Game Recap

Grand Rapids, MI–On Monday afternoon, the Coopersville Broncos rode into Forest Hills Northern with a modest five game winning streak and ran into a buzzsaw as the Husky bats put tremendous pressure on the Coopersville defense and led them to a 15-3 victory in a five inning contest ending the Broncos streak. The Broncos bats came out on fire as they collected 4 of their team total 7 hits in the first inning. After one inning the game was tied at 2 runs a piece. As the game progressed, the young Broncos bats couldn’t keep pace with FHN who collected 14 hits in 4 innings of work. The Broncos were paced by Junior Nicholas Lundquist who led the team with two hits including a double. Junior Isaac Oswald added a run scoring double in the first inning. Blake Reynolds took the loss on the mound. The Broncos will open league play as they travel to Allendale Tuesday afternoon for their doubleheader in the series. First pitch is scheduled for 4:15.
