The Coopersville Broncos girls golf team played in the state tournament October 20 and 21 at Forest Akers West Golf Course on the campus of Michigan State University. This was the 2nd time a Coopersville girls golf team had ever competed in the state finals.
The first day was a bit of a struggle for the Broncos. They finished day 1 with a 424. in last place by 6 strokes. 9th grader Alexa Davis led the way with a 99, followed by Kendall Harris with 105, Sadie Brink and Angie Sorenson each had 110 to complete the scoring for Coopersville on day 1.
Day 2 was a much better day as the Broncos played very well as a team to score 395 (the 12th best round of the day) moving up 2 spots into a tie for 16th place with a 2 day total of 819.
The Broncos were led by freshman Alexa Davis who shot a 92 for a 2 day total of 191, good for 36th place overall in the state! This also placed Davis 3rd amongst all Division 3 9th grade golfers in the state.
Kendall Harris capped her senior year with her best competitive 18 hole round ever by shooting a 94 for a 2 day total of 199.
Junior Sadie Brink returned to her consistent play with a score of 103 for a 2 day total of 213.
Angie Sorenson finished her senior year with a fine round of 106 for a 2 day total of 216.
Sophomore Sophia Baker improved her score by 5 shots on the 2nd day, shooting a 109 for a 2 day total of 225.
