The Broncos traveled to Comstock Park to play in another episode of the Cancer Classic. The Broncos overcame a rough 1st quarter when they turned the ball over 9 times due to a tough Comstock Park defense. Coopersville was also able to play well defensively holding the Panthers to 10 in spite of the turnovers. Coopersville fell behind early in the 2nd quarter but were able to hang close in the half after Nate Castenholz scored 4 straight to close the half. At the half, Coopersville was down by 1. The Broncos played a very good second half, jumping out to a 6 point lead immediately after halftime and never losing the lead again. They carried a 2 point lead into the 4th quarter and slowly extended it to the end. Jack DeVries had 4 points, 4 rebounds and a steal in the 4th quarter. The Broncos were led by Nolan Frye with 15 points, Chase VanKempen added 13 and Riley Johnson with 11. The Broncos move to 6-5 on the season and 4-2 in the league at the halfway point. They are in action again at Kenowa Hills on Tuesday night.
